February 12, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Gary Edinger is a local attorney and a member of the First Amendment Lawyers Association (FALA), a group of prominent attorneys responsible for litigating many important free speech cases. He is also active on the legal panel for the North Florida Chapter of the Florida ACLU.
Mr. Edinger graduated in 1986 with honors from the University of Florida Law School. He is currently a sole practitioner in Gainesville, Florida with a wide-ranging civil practice (general litigation, appeals, contracts, real estate – the usual). However, his first love and the emphasis of his practice for the last ten years is First Amendment litigation for a mix of adult and political clients. Within that area of practice, his primary interests are the law of prior restraint (licensing) and zoning issues.
Currently, First Amendment litigation makes up approximately 85% of Mr. Edinger’s caseload with the majority of those cases being filed in the Federal Courts in Florida and Georgia.
Mr. Edinger is a member of the First Amendment Lawyers Association (FALA), a group of prominent attorneys responsible for litigating many of the most important Free Speech cases decided by the United States Supreme Court as well as Federal Courts and State Supreme Courts throughout the United States. Mr. Edinger frequently lectures at FALA seminars on issues concerning prior restraints and zoning.
Mr. Edinger is active in his local ACLU Chapter and has served as the Chairman of the legal panel for the last two years.
